"Hello, my name is Matthew Jaeger. I have been with Gould Construction for 14 years. I came to work with Gould in 2010 after the housing and market crash of 2007-2008. I had been working and living in Florida for a while and the crash hit there hard. With no work to be found down there and being from the valley I contacted Gould, at which point I interviewed for the job and flew back the following week to start. I was grateful for the job at the time, and it has been a good fit ever since. I started with Gould as an equipment operator as I had been supervising for a company previously and was ready for little less stress. This did not last long as I was pushed into supervision in less than a few months after starting due to the necessity of increasing projects. Gould’s reputation has always seemed to keep them a top pick for the projects needed throughout Glenwood Springs and the surrounding valleys. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work on and complete a variety of very interesting projects from pedestrian and bicycle trails, river work, hospital/cancer center add on, road/ utility work, hotels, water systems, complete infrastructure for private ranches, work on both hot spring pools, work for RFTA bus service, and even a little helicopter commuting into remote site for water intake for Glenwood Springs. As a mostly commercial civil contractor, Gould Construction seems to provide a good service to the valley to not only help build new projects but also to keep existing infrastructure up and working. I am proud to be a small part of this greater company that helps build and service its surrounding communities."

"I’ve been with Gould Construction for 13 years, and it’s been an incredible journey. I started as a laborer and worked my way up to superintendent, a growth path I’m extremely proud of. I truly love my job—every day brings something new and exciting. Gould Construction has provided me with amazing opportunities to grow and develop, and I deeply value the strong sense of teamwork within the company. Working here has been more than just a career; it’s been a rewarding experience that I’m grateful for every day."

“ My name is Josh Backus and for the past two years I’ve had the privilege of working at Gould Construction. After exploring several different industries, I truly believe I’ve found my calling in civil construction. The work is challenging but the sense of accomplishment I get from seeing a project come to life is unmatched. There have certainly been difficulties along the way but every challenge has helped me grow and develop new skills. One of the aspects I appreciate most about Gould is the team. We work with a group of highly skilled and dedicated individuals who share a common goal of getting the job done right. The leadership here stands out—they are always willing to invest time in us, providing the guidance and support we need to ensure that our projects run smoothly. Whether it’s overcoming obstacles on-site or managing tight deadlines, they create an environment where we can succeed together. I take pride in being part of a company that values hard work, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.”

"I have been working at Gould Construction for two years now and it has been fulfilling for me to be able to watch the community grow with new construction and new developments which Gould has provided for all towns and facilities. I enjoy being a part of the city upgrades, the landmarks that we have built, and the relationships that we retain. The greatest joy is to show a quality finished product. The teams which I have worked with all have their own obstacles but what I like about the teams are that there is always a common goal of a finished product in sight. With involvement in construction, you will always have your ups and downs but with strong crews, the ability to change things to a positive outlook or a positive restructure is where I think the Gould teams excel. Working under the Gould name gives me pride in what I do and motivates me to become the best I can to properly support this company. The incentives and training that I have received also gives me new tools to become a better listener, leader, and provides me with the ability to handle our client's needs successfully."

" I've worked for Gould Construction since 2009. I started here as a laborer and worked my way up the ladder to General Superintendent. I’m proud of having been a part of many successful projects. Gould is committed to their employees and families. Understanding that their employees are their greatest asset. Also, Gould takes great pride in their work. They set the bar very high when it comes to quality and craftsmanship. In my opinion, Gould construction is the best Heavy Civil Contractor on the western slope. "
